Plus size modeling jobs in fit, e-commerce and brand content
Plus size modeling jobs pay you to model clothes and products for brands that sell extended sizes, usually US size 12 and up. The main paths are fit modeling, where designers adjust garments on your body, and on-figure e-commerce, where you shoot outfits for the online store. On PostModels, verified brands post plus size castings with sizes and rates.
- Adults 18+ only.
- Every model is ID and age verified.
- Every brand is a verified, paying business.
01
Fit modeling and on-figure e-commerce need different strengths
Both pay well, but they want different things from you. Knowing which one fits you helps you choose the right castings.
| Fit modeling | On-figure e-commerce | |
|---|---|---|
| What happens | Designers pin and adjust samples on you before production | You wear finished clothes and pose for the store photos |
| What matters most | Exact, steady measurements that match the brand's base size | Camera presence, quick changes, consistent poses |
| Your face | Not shown | Usually shown |
| How often | Often regular, weekly or per season with one brand | Per shoot day, many brands |
| What you add | Feedback on comfort, stretch, gaping and fit | Energy and range across many looks |
| Pay as general US guidance | Commonly $100 to $250 per hour | Commonly $100 to $250 per hour or $800 to $2,000 per day |
A fit model who keeps their measurements steady can work with the same brand for years. Fit work rewards consistency more than looks.
02
Brands cast plus size by exact size, not by label
"Plus size" covers a wide range. Brands usually build their patterns on one base size and grade up and down from it. Many plus brands use a base size of 14, 16 or 18, and size-inclusive brands often shoot each product on two or three sizes. The casting tells you the size it needs. Apply only when your measurements are close to it, usually within an inch at bust, waist and hips for fit work.
- Measure bust, waist, hips, high hip and inseam with a soft tape, ideally with help.
- Measure again every month, and update your profile when anything moves.
- List your dress, top and bottom sizes as the brands write them.
- Note your height. Many plus e-commerce castings ask for 5'7" to 5'11", while fit work often cares more about measurements than height.
03
Plus size modeling opportunities go far beyond clothing
Brands that sell to everyone cast size-inclusive models across categories.
- Activewear and athleisure, see also fitness modeling jobs.
- Beauty and skincare, where your face and skin are the focus.
- Home, travel and lifestyle ads that show real customers.
- UGC videos for fashion, beauty and wellness brands, filmed at home. See ugc jobs.
- Showroom work for plus collections during market weeks.
04
Your profile should show shape, fit and range
In your note, list your exact measurements, the base size you match and your experience with fittings or e-commerce sets. If you have done fit work, say how you give feedback: "I can tell you where a seam pulls and whether the stretch holds after an hour of wear."
- Digitals in fitted black basics, front, side and back, natural light, light makeup.
- One photo in well fitted jeans and a plain top, to show how clothing sits on you.
- Three to five styled shots that match the brands you want.
- A short video walking toward the camera and turning.

In the US, plus size modeling usually starts at size 12 and goes up. Many brands use a base size of 14, 16 or 18, and the casting states the size it needs.
A fit model wears clothing samples so designers can check and adjust the fit before production. Exact, steady measurements matter more than looks.
Not always. Many e-commerce castings ask for 5'7" to 5'11", but fit work, commercial and UGC jobs book a wider range of heights.
As general US market guidance, plus size fit and e-commerce models commonly earn $100 to $250 per hour, and e-commerce day rates often run $800 to $2,000 in big markets.
Take digitals, measure carefully, list your sizes as brands write them and apply to fit, e-commerce and UGC castings that match your base size.
